Privacy policy

What Tomette, this website, the waitlist and purchases do with your data. The app collects nothing and has no account or tracking.

This text is a draft and is being reviewed before launch.

The app

Tomette does not collect, transmit or share any data. It has no accounts, no analytics and no crash reporting, and it makes no network connections.

Everything Tomette stores stays on your Mac, in its own preferences: your settings; the task you typed and its steps; today’s focus count and the number of focus sessions completed on each of the last 28 days; and the position of the floating display. Quitting Tomette leaves this data in place; deleting the app’s preferences removes it.

If you switch notifications on, macOS shows them and their text never leaves your Mac. If you enable launch at login, macOS records that choice in System Settings.

When automatic updates arrive in a later version, Tomette will ask the download server whether a new version exists. That request carries your IP address, the app’s version and your version of macOS. This policy will be updated before that ships.

This website

The website sets no cookies. It counts visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which records the page, the referring site and your browser and country without cookies or personal identifiers. The site is served by Cloudflare, which processes your IP address to deliver it.

The waitlist

If you join the waitlist, your email address is stored by Kit (ConvertKit), our email provider, which sends a confirmation email first. We use it only to tell you about Tomette. Kit records whether emails are opened and links clicked. Every email has a link to unsubscribe, and you can ask us to delete your address at any time.

Purchases

Purchases are handled by Polar, the merchant of record, which processes your payment details, email address, billing country and tax information, and sends you the receipt and the download. We see your email address, country and order, and never your payment details.

Your rights

You can ask what we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, or object to its use, by writing to the address on the imprint. You can also complain to your data protection authority.
